The drama is NTV's "Tokyo Daikushu," whose cast is led by Maki Horikita and Tatsuya Fujiwara (details previously announced here and here). The drama, which airs on March 17-18, reportedly had a budget of 100 million yen.
The theme song is a currently untitled ballad written and composed by Yoshiki and sung by Akikawa. The two actually never met, as Yoshiki created the song while in Los Angeles. It was brought back to Japan, and Akikawa completed the recording in Tokyo on Monday.
